regain mouse wheel zoom! IE 11 worked in IE 10!

As per title,
having the zoom function of the mouse scroll wheel gives a much better user interface.
Now zoom control is only by using the scale icons with mouse pointer or pressing +- on keyboard.... really tedious!
This function seems to have been dropped for Internet Explorer 11.
