NOAA's website -- http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/grad/solcalc/ -- gives different solar event times

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (United States) has a web site (http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/grad/solcalc/) that pinpoints the major daily solar event times for a particular location using pinpoint maps. The solar event times...

No idea just to comment..

I have just found how to use sun compass on www.trainspots.co.uk. Fantastic! I have spent years laboriously trying to work out when the sun would be in the right place at the right time for photographing trains throughout the UK. Goodbye...

simulate a peroid (month, year, etc)

Add the ability to set a start and end date, and update interval, and see how the sun coverage changes.

I'd like to be able to share a URL with a UTC time

Apparently the times in the URL are in the browser's local time. So e.g., http://www.suncalc.net/#/69.6492,18.9553,7/2013.09.22/11:02 only shows the exact solstice for people whose browsers are configured to GMT+0.

Hello Vladimir. Satellite instead of maps =

Hello Vladimir. Great App and I use it a lot. The map view could be improved with say a satellite view. Sometimes the map view - unless you overlay onto, e.g. Ordnance Survey (in the UK) is not too accurate. Overlaying your app onto Google...

change the size of the circular indicator.

When zoom into large scale, it would be convenient if the circle can change size through dragging.

See the shadows shift with the time at street level

I want to be able to see the shadows shift with the sun as I move the orange dot for the time, while I'm at street level view.

When zooming in, let curve follow map

WHen zooming into google maps in some areas, satellite photography is replaced with aircraft photography. google allows the user to change the direction of North in the map. The suncalc application doesn't track this change, displaying incorrect...

Quantify the elevation throughout yellow region!

There should be quantification of the arc values at the top and bottom of the yellow annual region. Also, you say "The closer a point is to the center, the higher is the sun above the horizon," but your graphic doesn't reflect that quantifiably....

when zooming out on the map I find that the lines do not extend far enough across the map, I've been trying to get a picture of some local landmarks at dawn but its difficult to get an exact time

check when the Sun crosses a certain LATITUDE

Sun will cross the latitudes between 23.5 North and 23.5 South twice in a year. Intuitively this motion of Sun between the Tropics would be a Simple harmonic motion with amplitude of 47 degrees of latitude and a period of 1 year. Is it possible...

Scaling

It looks as though I can make the sun trajectory go through the object and it's shadow point thus allowing the sun line to show the trajectory of the shadow across the image. Is that the case and if so does the trajectory line need to be scaled...

Show where the sun is even if it's not up

When I'm sliding the sun over the time bar, or looking at the web site at at time when the sun has not yet risen it would be interesting to see where the sun was located on the map (even tho it is night, dusk or dawn.)
