Your app is absolutely fantastic!! I have been looking for something like this for absolutely ages!
I am a photographer and this helps heaps with pre-planning for location shooting! I wish I could have an app like this for the iphone, but for now I will do all the planning at home!
At the very least, it would be great if there was browser detection and it generated a version optimized for iPhone/Android phone screens. While I would love an actual app, it works pretty good on the iPad browser as-is, but not on the iPhone.
At last I've found something very useful in tracking solar movement over time. Great job on the slider control, too. It would also be great to see this come out for Android.
Please make an app for iphone. I don't care if it is not FREE. I would glady pay a few bucks! This tool is just fantastic!! I like to take pictures of sunrise/sunset, and I love watching the sunirse and sunset for the sheer pleasure of it...it starts and ends the day on a good note!
I discovered there is a $1 suncalc app in the iphone appstore with a snapshot looking exactly like suncalc's diagram, but the author's name isn't you ; are you aware of this ?
For cellphones:
I would convert the time text into images relative to client display.
This would prevent seeing 9:00 near sunset and the remainder of the times running off to the right.
When someone is looking for property to buy or even to sell, a quick look while at the site would be easier than going back home or lugging a PC with a hot spot. It's not always obvious to know the Sun's track when you are standing out there. I'm not a realtor, but I think those folks really would like it.
how about the ability of downloading a file of elevation and inclination for the suns position for one year. It could just be a text file of daily / hourly elevation and inclinations based on my lat/log position. from efittery@gmail.com
Excellent! I use this for fisheries compliance. Tuna longline fishing vessels in South Africa are only allowed to set during the night to avoid catching albatross and other vulnerable / protected seabirds. We look at nautical dusk and dawn for that. Would be great to have an android app for in harbour use for inspectors.
